There is nothing to celebrate about the suicide bombing of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or the aborted attempt on Camp David.
Should it be a day of remembrance? Of course, just as Remembrance day honors the dead of the past wars, so should 9/11 honor the dead of the current war, as many regard the tragic events as the first action in an undeclared war. But a holiday? No.

Yes, I agree to that. My suggestion is to make 911 more than a USA holiday. It should be an International Anti-Terror Day. September 11th should be a day of Remembrance for all people that died in Terror attacks, genocides, Independence wars and all people that fell in Working Duty.

confident, I believe what you're asserting and that i've got faith that this has been carried out. we would possibly no longer get the day without work yet i've got faith that it rather is now hassle-free as Patriot Day. yet inspite of having a acceptance for the day or having the day without work, i think of that each people remembering the place we've been and how we felt on that day is a manner we are in a position to all pay our respects to the victims, their families, and all people who have been effected with the help of Sept 11.

It should be a national holiday. September 11 effected all Americans, directly and indirectly. It should be a day of remembrance and reflections.

No, is Pearl Harbor a national holiday? 9-11 will be a day of rememberance, regardless if it is made a holiday or not.

I think so..or we should at least have a nation wide mourning period. I think it would be good if we even just had it announced when the planes were hit, and we observe that moment and other significant moments on that day by a few moments of silence.

No, as someone already mentioned, what about Pearl Harbour or other disasters? I think that there should be 2 or 5 minutes of silence and memorials...but not an actual holiday.
Sorry.

not a holiday but a national day of rememberance; to remember all the innocent people who lost their lives unncecssarily; to remember how the lives of the survivors was forever changed without their consent; to remember all the families who lost husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, best friends, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, counsins, grandmas, grandpas, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, and people who meant a lot them; also to remember & NEVER forget that America was attacked on her sovereign soil; this can never ever be forgotten; to all of the men & women of the armed forces and their families... THANK YOU. GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR COURAGE AND SACRIFICE.
