What should I do? She says that she spaces it out and that the amount she takes at one time are the same dosages they give in the hospital. Should I tell my brother or keep my mouth shut?

sounds like your "friend" wants you to fry your brain like hers is. go ahead, destroy your life with drugs.

and when you do, don't coming running for help.

my policy is to not even spin on the graves of druggies.

very dangerous

VERY dangerous. Twenty bucks says antihistamines won't even be sold over the counter in a few years (for this, and for other reasons as well). Depending what she's taking, at high doses it could cause hypotension, breathing difficulty, rapid heart rate, seizures (if you take enough)... Medicine isn't something to mess around with, and people abuse it way too much recreationally.

They don't give you dosages that high at the hospital. You should tell every person you can to get them to get her to stop.

The popular drug choice among kids today is what they call Triple c. Cordicidin Cough/Cold. It can be deadly. Don't talk to your brother. Talk to her parents. My daughter has done it and ended up in the hospital. Her friend also did it and actually died on the table. They were able to bring him back but it could have easily gone the other way. Not to mention the harm that is being done to the kidneys...imagine having to pee through a tube the rest of life. No...stand up and do the right thing. Save her from herself. She probably needs professional help. Perhaps she told you in an unconscience attempt to get that help. She might be mad at you for awhile but would you rather have a mad friend or a dead friend?

No, you should tell your friend that is a very dangerous habit. Lots of people believe that OTC drugs are safe. They are drugs! I don't know of any dosage that is 1000 mg. of OTC antihistamines. I do, however, know that this is toxic. I work with a client who did this and now has a pre-cancerous syndrome. I also know someone who is in a coma from it. It is extremely DANGEROUS. If she won't listen, talk to her parent, a school counselor, or her doctor. He/She can't give you your friends medical history, but can confront your friend on what she is doing and make sure she is still safe. Good luck to your friend.

I think you should tell someone because she has become addicted to the pills. The body will start to need this more often as you use it. Its like taking sinus medicine once the body has adjusted to taking these pill it will only work properly when the pills are in her system...get her some help even if she doesn't think she needs it....tell someone you trust if you really care about what's really happening to her.

OK, if you care about this person, tell-your-brother.

They are frying the inside of their nose!

What happens later? Breath using an oxygen tank and scars on her face and nose where the doctors try to put everything back to semi-normal?.

antihistamine should not get you high.

if she is getting high, she is obviously not taking a recommended dose.

it's not your business, so dont go telling on her.

talk to her though, and make her realize it's a bad idea.

sometimes, you gotta let people make their own mistakes, or they'll never learn anything. maybe hearing that a friend who cares is worried would be enough to make her stop.

Help her by telling anyone who is in charge of her. My-step brother is now a vegetable from this.
