what is a "lotus pad" person? what does that mean?

Some describe an uphoric state as seeming to be floating on a lotus pad. I surmise that a lotus pad person would be one that is uncharacteristically happy and/or ignoring reality, not in touch with reality.

It is from religions that worship Budda. Indian and or other countries possibly oriental. Zen maybe.
