You name the destination, I'll name the hotel!
Downtown/West End/AA Center? The W is nice. Also, the Adolphus is nice.
Along McKinney where Hard Rock is and stuff, stay at either the Stoneleigh or Hotel ZaZa perhaps.
To go to touristy Six Flags/Ripleys, TX Rangers, there are many hotels in that area. Arlington Hilton and Marriott are nice.
If you have other locations in mind (shopping in McKinney) or whatever, just let me know.
Hope that helps!

if you are looking for things like six flags, shopping, and ranger games, arlington would be a better place to stay. if you want clubs, higher-end shopping, and more expensive restaurants, dallas is it. try the west end or other parts of downtown. if you are going in october, you will be able to go to the state fair, too. if you want museums, a laid back downtown nightlife with clubs, restaurants, shopping and pubs, stay in fort worth.

Depends on what your interpritation of fun is... Hotel Zaza is in a trendy area and is supposed to be trendy, but that would be more for the night clubs and stuff. www.hotelzaza.com.
