Do u think is possible that a government lies to the world saying that a terrorist attack?

was on the name of Al-Qaeda when the Government really DID it to get economic benefits and affections from the town and immunity to attack Afganistan or Irak? There is a complicated question, but I was a survivor of an "islamic" attack and I have watched the documentary "9-11 Loose Change" in google and I am very confused.

Shame on you! Do you really think our government would orchestrate such a charade, killing all those people (children too) just for economic gain? Our government isn't perfect and yes they do lie, but the American government didn't kill 3,000+ people just to point the finger at someone else. Well, I'd put it this way that neither the Govornment nor the media is entirely truthful. It has been proved that just those aeroplane crashes could not demolish the whole of WTC.

Well, I'm just as confused as you. But still, some things are beyond confusing. We hear the sea level is rising because ice caps are melting for Global Warming. Any high school student of Physics would tell you that when ice melts into water, it takes the same volume as ice because it shrinks while melting. Then how can the sea level rise?

How can the ice caps of Antarctica even melt for 1/2 degree rise NOW because the average temperature there remains above a decade under zero.

We are not seeing it as it is wholely. It is very much possible the Govornment and media are spreading the fake fear....

Sometimes a government itself can be hood winked. Most secret services are so independent of their government, that the govt. doesn^t know what the SS (sorry, that's Secret Service) is doing.
The fairest thing to say about 9/11, was that the CIA had adequate warning and either did not inform the central government, or the warnings were ignored.

Let's not forget that during the USA Embassy siege in Tehran, at a time when President Carter wanted to know what his secret service was doing, the CIA made a pact with the Iranians, not to lift the siege until after Pres. Reagan was elected. The siege was lifted the day after Pres. Reagan was sworn in in January.

I think it is unlikely that the 9/11 attack was manipulated, but I remain suspicious of the alleged plot to bomb planes taking off from the UK for the USA. Especially because it came at a time when both Blair and Bush were on an all time low in their ratings.

It is possible for certain types of governments to lie systematically to "their" citizens. The North Korean people are almost entirely reliant on Govt media and so many will accept the paranoid delusional propaganda of the regime. Saying that, it is always a pleasure to see the masses coming out to vote and read an open press when these regimes fall. But, it is hard in a relatively free society to sustain a major untruth as opposing viewpoints are easily available. For 9/11 to be a conspiracy by the CIA/White House/{ fill in your favourite bogeyman } would be impossible to sustain for long. Too many people would need to be "in" on the plot - from ambitious politicians, to bureaucrats worried about their pensions, to academics, to journalists. So the conspiracy would be enormous! So whilst yes in principle the "big lie" can be done by a dictatorship, in the end democratic politicians who lie get caught out (ask John Profumo, Richard Nixon, or even Slick Willie Clinton!)

In this case, US Industry (Mainly Oil, Defence and Construction) were the financial beneficiaries.
Israel and the US administration were the political beneficiaries.
I am unable to think of any Arab country or cause that received any benefit from the destruction of the twin towers.
