Print screen normally works. Make sure no media files are running while u take d snapshot like playing dvd movies etc. Try pasting d picture in another picturing editing software. This may be out of d way, restart in safe mode (press F8 Before windows xp begins to load) and when windows loads and stuff, try print screen and paints. If a picture comes up, a program u may be using when u run windows normally is causing yur problem.Laterz.

Sometimes screen shots save in layers depending on the program your taking a picture of, especially true in cases of high detail 3d rendering. Some of the more basic paint/photo programs can display this when you paste but are unable to save and reproduce it. A good free program that handles different formats well is IrfanView. Lots of programs respond differently.

++ works, for some.

In others, + , followed by works better.

Or try Start/Programs/Accessories/Paint/Edit/Paste.

Hope one of these helps : )
