You could use XP, but PLEASE, create another account with VERY LIMITED access to resources (e.g. plain old user, not administrator nor power user). Then install the software on this user's desktop.

This is because many Limewire files (and Kazaa...) are spyware or viruses, and this prevent your personnal files from being infected if you lauch the files under this limited-user's account.

just fyi, i had tons of trouble with my computer and after the people fixed it they told me things they recommended i not keep on my computer and limewire was one of them--i do know that since then i haven't had any problems. just wanted to warn you.
