Sympathy for Lady Vengeance...last movie seen...
Head-shaking...'you must be joking' type horror...with a story...which the film slowly reveals to you...
If you have seen Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance...then you must now get Oldboy....as Sympathy for Lady Vengeance completes the director's revenge themed trilogy. These threemovies are not sequels as in three parts of the same story.
The director simply explores the emotional consequences and fallout when one person decides to take the law into his or her hands...
Totally brutal...as nakedly honest as a body without its skin...these films explore the difference between the idea of revenge and its actualy nature...for it is like a sword...it cuts not only intended target...but the person who wields it...and sometimes everyone around them....
Don't look for innocence or guilt here....pain is the coin of this realm...anditis an investment that pays the ugliest of dividends....
Take a look at Director Chan-Wook Park's other movie that stands outside this trilogy ...Joint Security Area.
Simply brilliant piece of work as well.
Also take a look at director Miike Takashi's 'Audition'...whileyou are at it...
at Blockbuster Video and Netflix...is where I get my stuff...
