... one cannot deny the truth in what he said. It is sad to be if we cannot talk about race in America any more. I mean, if the Cos can't say it, who can? And if we can't honestly discuss race issues in America, how can we imporove them?

Good Question!

Your question is too generalized. Not all African-Americans had a problem with what Cosby said. I suspect not even a majority had a problem. What he said was the truth and many, including myself, appreciated the points that Mr. Cosby presented. I believe that any objection to Mr. Cosby's statement had to do with when and where they were delivered, not necessarily what he said.

It is possible to have an honest discussion about race if individuals are willing to not generalize an entire races when they enter these dicussions. Hopefully Cosby comments will start intelligent discussion as opposed to blanket stereotypical responses!

I agree. Don't try to get answers from here. People will just turn thing around and put blame on someone instead of answering the question. I'm all done with that!

Because Cosby is a hypocrite..his own daughter was a C student and drug addict party girl who got into Spelman by him donating money for a new dorm to be built....his son was gunned down in cold blood and rather than be vigilant like John Walsh and try to confront the root of senseless violence...he hides behind his celebrity and money like he's above most people ....when he slipped a woman a mickey a few years ago and attempted to slide in his Jell-o pudding pop......rather than try to work for solutions like Russell Simmons with Hip Hip Action Commitee.....all Cosby does is stand on a soapbox and preach...sounding like a drunk uncle at a Bar-B-Que.....he blames the Hip Hop generation for his decline...that's why he's pissed off....his statements are overly exaggerated and rooted in sensationism....he's a bitter old man who can't make a movie or launch a another TV show to save his life...he's mad at a world that is changing...instead of taking a stand and trying to change it....he's washed up....the only way he can get the press to pay him attention is to attack his own people instead of nurturing them and showing them a better way to live....Cliff Huxtable...where forth art thou???....a fictionial character lost in syndication.

I am African American and I am grateful to Mr. Cosby for speaking the truth.

Bill Cosby is arrogant. Yes, there is truth in one he said, but what does he do to change the black community? I have never heard of Cosby coming to a black school where I'm from, or making any donations. Neither do I think a man who is facing a rape charge has the right to be judgemental. Tyler Perry/David Bannera are excellent examples of men who not only lecture on what is wrong but also what can the black community do to change the error of his ways. They come to us (the poor blacks) and help us, not stand at a national convention where the only African-Americans allowed are prestigious, (excuse my french) SOB'S whose destiny in life is to turn their noses up at the struggling black male/female in a holier-than-thou attitude. That's my opinion.

Some people don't like the truth and some African Americans are jealous of Cosby's success or they just feel that he is out of touch with Black America because of his wealth and status.

twisted thoughts of all involved
Though the Cos is right in many respects
Many believe he is wrong to make this stand publically.

which just means it falls on deaf ears

i have heard more black people say some of the things black people do are ignorant. Bill was right, but who is going to admit what is true about white people. Whenever you say anything pertaining to white people that they know is true only a small percent like 1% will admit it.
