I think the meaning of life is to make your own meaning - to figure out what is meaningful to you as a person and live your life accordingly.

All the answers so far are rather on the neagative side or high-flown morality. However, science has definitely advanced to a stage where ,even if life itself cannot be duplicated in laboratories on any appreciable scale, the basics of origin and development of living things has been identified more or less correctly.The religious dogma of life being the gift of god nomore obtains. However, that does not necessarily make all that flows from the divine origin of life irrelegant. Thus the need to respect all forms of life as our own voiced in one reply is still and will always be relevant. Not for ensring a ticket to heaven but the continued rule of life.No matter is god did not create life, it is still the duty of life to bring on this planet and elsewhere the kingdom of god.

The closest I can think of is.. We are here and kind of like in a school for whenever we get to heaven. The bible is a study book that we can go by in order for us to be able to live the best life possible. The bible has lots of stories about different situations we may find ourselves in.
All the emotions in there, both good and bad. The closer we can follow the bible in our lives the more happy and content we are and also the more we grow spitritually.
So, what this boils down too is we are here in a holding and learning pattern for heaven.

I don't know about the meaning of life, but the purpose of life is to find the best cheesecake. Preferably strawberry.

It ends, and then you're gone. So the meaning of life is what you make for yourself in the time that you have; and the time you have is the most precious resource you will ever have.

for me the meaning of life is happiness. where do u find happiness?? it depends. some of us find us in loved ones some of us find it in our pets. some of us find it in our jobs. some of us find it by helping others. sometimes it takes a while to find happiness but you find it soon enough. and when u find it u will realize that ur life is complete.
