It's a china tea cup. It's white with little pink flowers on it. I pick it up and examine it. I place it back on the road.

I see a goblet encrusted in gems. It looks to be from King Arther times. Inside the cup is dirt. Centuries old dirt. I do not pick it up. It belongs here just like it has for the many years before it.

It looks like a child's cup, with a top to it so nothing will spill out. It's not standing upright though, it's laying on it's side. I pick it up, wash it off under some water and place it in the fridge.

It's a thick, square coffee cup, from that set that I wanted but couldn't afford. Man did I throw a fit when my husband told me I couldn't buy that set of dishes. Looking at it now, though, what's so special about it? And why did I have to hurt the one person in the world who loves me uncondtionally just for a material object?

The cup is fine china. It's old and cracked, but has a beautiful pattern. I pick it up to look at the pattern more closely, but I put it back down. It will not be useful to me on this dirt road.

It's a white porcelain teacup with a floral design, very much like this one. It's quite empty. It's for having a cup of tea, served from a matching teapot, with friends around a coffeetable.

The cup is an old tin cup and it has water in it (a tasty beverage that I just happen to need right now).

I see an old coffee cup. It's sturdy and off-white. It's full of hot chocolate. I take a sip and it burns my lips.
