I purchased a black dye kit to enhance my black clothing. The instructions are very vague. I am concerned about the residue left behind in the washer. Do I double rinse? Do I let them soak?
Thanx y'all!

It is important when dying fabric to use very hot water. Dissolve dye in hot water and agitate or stir well to dissolve. Put wet clothes in dye bath and stir or agitate. Let sit for a while; run through rest of wash and then rinse in water with salt or vinegar to set. Run washer with a half cup of bleach and no clothes in it. In Mexico I can buy a soap that has black or denim blue in it. I don't know if it is available in the US but it works well.

Soak in the dye, then soak in vinegar to help the dye hold. Rinse after and dry in dryer or hang to dry. Be sure you run an empty load through the washer (add some bleach to the water) before doing any other laundry!
