Sterile bandages are designed and packaged to insure that the injury pad is and remains sterile. The design also allows for application of the bandage to remain sterile during the application itself.

Adheasive bandages are more for protective reason of wounds that have partially healed and don't necessarily need the injury pad to be sterile.

here's a tip. When applying a sterile band-aid, open the individual package then keeping the injury pad facing downward, peal back the adhesive protector to expose the injury pad, place the pad over the injury site and then pull the protector strips off allowing the adheives panels to attach to the skin. Keeping the injury pad covered until contact to the injury and keeping it facing downward will keep it sterile until applied.

Hope this helps and good luck!

The difference is big because there is nothing to compare between then. Sterile means, manufactured, packed, placed while sterile and clean. Adhesive is an addition to most bandages allowing them to stick correctly contouring the injury.
They are both essential for any good bandage, but some parts of the body does not allow adhesives that's why some are not of that type.

Sterile means germ-free. Adhesive indicates the bandage has tape or some other substance that makes it stick, such as bandaids. Both types of bandages are available for purchase.

There is no connection between the two. Adhesive bandages are sterile, its not an and/or situation.
