HAve any of you ever ordered from Amazon.com before. Did you receive your stuff in about the time they predicted? I ordered Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix from Amazon.com, and they said that I should receive it around September 16, 2006, but now I got an email saying that the ship date has been pushed back to Sept 29. I know that gamexube doesn't make it anymore, so I was wondering if Amazon would advertise a product they don't even have in stock, collect my money, and have me waiting "forever:... I just didn't think it would be this much hassle for a video game.

I have ordered form Amazon, without any problems. I have had them push back my ship date, but I have always gotten what I ordered from them.

Amazon has very little 'in stock'. They use "just in time" inventory practices to maximize cash flow and minimize stock on hand.

At times, it is possible that the product may be out of production so it cannot be shipped immediately. Other times, it may never become available again (like if a book or CD goes out of print without much demand for another pressing).

Decide how long you are willing to wait, if Amazon doesn't come through in that period, cancel your order (their policy is to not charge your card until the product ships).

I've never had any problems from them when I ordered stuff. It's finding if things are in stock or their shipping policy that sucks! I've order things before and it goes through but I had this one order that said it was not in stock and I was able to cancel it. If you're willing to wait then that's on you but some sites won't tell you if things are in stock or not, it's the chance you have to take.

I have ordered from Amazon frequently and have only ever had 1 problem similar to yours. I had the option of cancelling the order by going to my account page on their site.

I believe that if a product is no longer made, and Amazon has run out, they are getting it from another source and it takes time.

It's frustrating, but generally Amazon is pretty good with customer service. If you can't cancel it (and want to) online, call them and I'm sure they'll take care of it.

Good luck!
