I think that isn't quite true, because, I (the wife) am the one who gets rid of the spiders in our house. I like spiders. I'm also the one who starts on the gardening and/or decorating each year before he comes along to help out.
He is an engineer, and believe me, I don't think I've met a less practical person! Gets all the pieces wrong way round when putting self assembly furniture together. I have to supervise and gently offer the [correct] alternative!
To his credit however, he is a good cook - now I've taught him the basics, he's far more imaginative and experimental than I am.
And he's ok at doing the heavier tasks, like using a hammer drill or putting up sheds (with my supervision!). His best skill though, is going down the pub to play pool, darts, and networking.

I am a woman and I have owned snakes and spiders so not much bothers me. I can handle my own and then some. Let me just say a woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle. You can be replaced with a battery operated toy that doesn't talk back, steal the remote, or need it's ego stroked. When you're done with it you simply clean it and shut it up in a drawer. Would that men were so easy to handle.

Who said we don't need men, I most certainly do, I love my man to bits, he is my life and I would be nothing without him, not scarred of spiders but I am of mice, so if I need him to be my hero he will be, but he certainly has a lot more to offer me than chasing nasty things away.

Why can't we do it ourselves?
Besides, I enjoy killing house spiders in creative ways- eg., flushing them down the toilet, drowning them, etc. Ugly, ugly little buggers.
And for the record, I never said that women didn't need men. But I'm not saying that EVERY woman needs a man.

Personally, I'm a fan of the "nasties". I like to pick up the spiders and chase macho men with them. I'm not a butch girl either, but I'm not some squealing wuss.

I never said women don't need men. Men are quite useful. I agree that they are great at killing spiders, fixing things, etc. =)

Spiders and others creatures I can take care of . No problem. Thats why guns and shoes were invented. We need man to take care of the other needs a woman has . Get my drift .

Very true...but you know we women also need men for other more important things you know....how dare you say that men are only used as 'protectors' of their women?? Men are also very good at opening really tightly sealed jars and unplugging the lightbulbs....
