It's pretty difficult. Usually 90 is considered having had a very successful season. Anything above that is icing on the cake. Of course it depends of the pennant race each year. Sometimes 100 wins isn't enough.

There are years where no teams do it. If any team does it in any given year, then they are usually the only one. It's very hard. Usually the team with the best record in baseball finishes the season with between 95 and 99 wins. There's too much parity for teams to be winning 100 games a season. Even in the AL Central where the teams get to play Kansas City about 19 teams each, the other teams are very competitive and usually come close to splitting with each other making it hard to win over 100. Same thing in the AL East. The good teams (NY, BOS, TOR) beat up on each other, so the extra wins they get from playing the Orioles and Devil Rays are negated.

This year only 6 teams still have a shot (everyone else already has more than 62 losses).
NL
New York Mets (88-54), would need to finish 12-8 or better
AL
New York Yankees (85-56), would need to finish 15-6 or better
Detroit Tigers (86-58), would need to finish 14-4 or better
Minnesota Twins (83-59), would need to finish 17-3 or better
Oakland Athletics (82-60), would need to finish 18-2 or better
Chicago White Sox (82-61), would need to finish 18-1 or better
Realistically, only the Mets look to be in a position to win 100 this year.

Just look at this year...we have about 20 games to go and out of all teams in MLB there are only 3 teams that even have a shot if they win 15 of their last 20. Its really hard these days...the most ever is 116 by Seattle a few years back...2000 I beleive

A team has to be very good considering there are about 162 games in a season. The Mariners once had 116 and they could not even get in the world series. Killed in the playoffs.

It is pretty easy if they just have there pitchers winning at least 10 wins. It should be pretty easy if there a good team and have a good bullpen and offense. Although its not so easy for teams such as the Devil Rays and Royals because there both low market teams with not so good bullpen and offense.

it's very hard to win 100 out of 162, some great teams never get above 95
