For your first problem, I would look at a problem with the starter solenoid...especially if it's the original starter. You may have a bad switch for the sport/normal trans mode. When you operate the switch....what's it supposed to do to the trans?? Prevent it from going into overdrive? But not going into 1st doesn't sound right. Read the owners manual for more info on how it's supposed to work. Maybe a new switch from the dealer, or looking into bypassing it and using only normal mode.

Main relay. Its hard to find under dash next to driver side kick panel. $60.new or $25 used. I moved my daughters to a easier location in case it goes again. Had to pull dash up 3 inches to get it. Trans I say first change fluid.

you indeed have 2 problems the first put a starter on it....that will take care of your problem...but only if your batter and cables are clean and tight....the second....u need a tcm....trans control module....expensive yes but that will fix it...u can remove it from the car and it will smell burnt...its under the passendger floorboard there are 2 there one if for the engine and the other is for the trans....the tcm is on the right
