Why do we rarely see Asian man/white woman couples?

Question

About 10% of Asian women in the US marry non-Asians, especially whites. But that doesn't mean that 10% of Asian males marry non-Asians. Why?

ok I am an asian female raised in the US and I am american. I have asked 3 of my white american female friends this question. Three of them said flat out "asian men are ugly". The other one just told me that she was "not attracted to asian men because they have no sex appeal and they look asexual". Then she said "asian men are short".

I personally have tried to be friends with asian men in the past and I notice that they have a HARD time making eye contact with me or have no social skills.

Just putting my 2 cents in. Maybe no eye contact, no confidence, and the fact that most, not all asian men are under 5'9" make them unattractive to white women.

This does not apply to all asian men but I just asked who I know.

My brother was complaining about this kind of media stereotype a couple years ago, too.

Reading this article from answers.com tells me that asian American women outnumber asian american men by 1%, and that 6% more marry interracially than men, if I have my math right.

The Asian nation article is a bit more reader-friendly and actually surveys men and women of specificied different Asian backgrounds with whom they were most often married to.

These statistics frankly don't mean much to me personally because they represent a limited number of specific cases. I don't think the numbers mean that much especially when there are significantly less interracial marriages than not throughout. And it's much more interesting to know for example that Sandra Oh's character in "Grey's Anatomy" is a slob who will buy new underwear rather than wash it while her boyfriend is so uptight that he would not perform surgery without his lucky bandana, than it is to know that they are an interracial couple. People are so different personality-wise even within their own race, gender, and class that these statistics are absolutely boring in comparison to who they really are.

The media stereotypes the asian male as unappealing, effeminate, or nerdy. As much as we try to believe that the media doesn't influence our views of others, it actually does make an impact. Asian females with white males are shown on tv much more often than asian males with white females. Think about it, when was the last time you saw a tv show, movie or a commercial with an asian male / white female pairing?

Also, a side note: Asian males are regarded slightly more than their female counterparts in the asian society. Therefore, a higher percentage of them are expected to be the dutiful good son - which essentially means that they have to marry an asian girl. Asian girls on the other hand don't have as much restriction placed on their dating habits (afterall, it's the last name of the male that gets passed on from generation to generation).

maximum white women persons are not fascinated in asian adult males. maximum asian adult males that i've got met are very submissive interior the courting, i don't understand if that is via life-style or that is merely the adult males that i've got met. yet maximum american women persons (even nevertheless some won't admit it) like a solid effectual guy. i think of a few of it has to do with the stereotype too.

I do loved tearz answer! LOL!!!! But there is some truth to that. Asian men are a little too small to satisfy a white woman sexually.
