I work in a sandwich shop and i've been there for about 3 years and i would say that i ONLY mess with someone's food if they are being rude or difficult or talking on their cell phone the whole time. They can see me make their sandwiches though so all i can really do is add a ton of salt or pepper or smash their sandwich or something.

I worked fast food in college for 3 years and only saw that happen twice...the customers were being VERY rude both times, so better be nice!

It's not a recommended or common practice... besides, if they screw with your food, it's probably because you sent it back. Why would it makes sense to piss you off again and have to remake the food a third time?
It's not good practice.

I never did, but my mom, who's worked in restaraunts since I was like five, has so many stories about times when they'd get bitchy people and so they'd screw with their food. It usually included spitting, dropping it on the floor, stuff like that. Pretty much, watch the movie "Waiting" and you have what my mom's old restaraunt was like.

I've never worked in a fast food place but I have had friends who did and one in particular told me that he and his co-workers would personally spit in the burgers.

Well it depends on the customer really. If u insist on being a *****; rude, unattentive, and overall nasty u get the snot special. However if u listen to me, don't make me repeat myself and act civilised then more for u. In summary the basic rule to ALL consumers: DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU!!!

Oh god! I don't want to know either. But they should get in trouble if something does happen because those places are loaded with security cameras..
