Agrees with "john4" and "gloria". Vomit / puke have acid in them from the stomach.. the most effective counter agent to acid IS ACID.. like in lemon juice or vinegar... You can also try tomato based products like tomato juice if you are doing the cushions WITHOUT the covers... and the lemon or vinegar can be used on the covers so no stains appear.
Basically acid kills acid.... protein gets out protein... and so on with most laundry problems.... Happy Cleaning ! : )

How large is the soiled area? If it's really big, call a professional to steam clean the entire couch - it'll be like brand new!

Take a flame to the couch, m'lady! And sacrifice a black cat on the next new moon and your home will conspicuously barf-free.

If the cover comes off just throw it in the washer hang out to dry (so it won't shrink). Otherwise sorry I'm not much help.

Steam clean it with a "Rug Doctor" and put it outside in the Sun all day. That should do it.

try white vinegar. pour on vinegar and blot out with a towel, repeat if necessary to completely remove smell. the smell of vinegar will disappear when it dries.
