I just wanted to know what are the effects of having intercourse at 13. As for me i never knew because i first did at sixteen but will your breast stop growing, can you become infertile or are there no side effects people usually tell pre-teen and thirteen yr. old's that their too young for it but what does it do too you if you tend to have it at thirteen. I just do not get it!! I mean the teen girls.

There are not side effects, there are however risks, not just in terms of issues of emotional harm but physical and sexual.

There is an increased risk of cervical cancer and STD's – rationale being that the earlier you have sex the longer they are exposing themselves to potential risk, there is also some question as to whether the development of the genitals could leave children/teens at higher risk of infection.

Teenagers and children for the most part lack the education and responsibility to deal with sex, the vast majority are greatly under educated – typical examples would be many teens believe sex the first tie should hurt or that safe sex means just using condoms, a lot of adults don't know about the birds and the bees either but at least they can be held responsible for their ignorance, teens and children rely on schools and parents to educate them and do not think to educate themselves.

Pregnancy is a big issue when it comes to teenagers and sex, this is also where another aspect of physical/sexual health comes into it, when a child or teen falls pregnant they are putting themselves at great risk as their bodies are not developed enough to carry a [potential] baby to term, this risks not only their own health but also the health and lives of any child they do fall pregnant with – thus irresponsible and undereducated about their own bodies, sex, etc.

No "side effects" directly related to the age of the participant. However, at 13 an individual is rarely (if ever) mature enough to make wise decisions regarding his/her sexual and mental health. There is a good chance a female would become pregnant or contract an STD / HIV due to ignorance or blatent disregard for safety. This is why sex at 13 is not recommended.

The only "side effects" of having sex at 13 are the same as they are at 16 or 19 or 22 etc. Pregnancy and STDS, HIV.

One issue that is not often discussed is that very young girls who become pregnant have a higher risk of complications than ones who are somewhat older. At thirteen your body is still developing.

Physically no problems just like masturbation, but emotionally niether a 16 year old or a 13 year old is capable of a sexual relationship, and that goes for boys and girls.

I never heard of anything like that, my friend started having sex at 12 & she's a well-developed girl & not to be surprised she had a baby too. So thats a myth.
