If it's leather oil, not motor oil - are you trying to break your glove in? You can use shaving cream that contains lanolin, that softens leather - but I just recommend good old fashioned leather conditioner and long days of catch.

I would suggest going to a sporting goods store and get the proper treatment for the leather of your cathers glove.
