Could someone please tell me EXACTLY where the tsunami on December 26, 2004 took place?

I keep getting different answers but what countries did the tsunami detroy? Also, as for the continent it was in, was it Southeast Asia?

It took place in New Orleans, Louisiana!!!

I thought it started somewhere in indonesia. Actually, it's a good thing you told me the correct date and year for when that tsunami took place. I thought it was back in 2005. So, thanks for the correct date and year.
