My four friends passed on Monday. (Car wreck) I knew them okay, but not well. I had known them for years and years. But people got up and said (about Isaac) how great he was, and if you needed a friend, he'd be more then happy, and how much he loved so dance with people. Swing dance especially.

How do I live down the regret of not getting to know them like brothers, when the oppurtunity was always there?

When someone dies, everyone always has their own regrets. Some people think that they could have prevented it, some wish they had gotten to tell the people how they really felt and others wish they had spent more time with the person. You just have to realize that there is NOTHING you can do about it. Don't beat yourself up over something you can't change. My Fiance passed away 5 years ago. People always wonder how I can talk about it without breaking down. I had my own regrets as well. But, eventually I realized that I couldn't go back and change anything. I went to his grave alone where I could tell him all the things that I didn't get a chance to. If you really believe the person is listening, then this will give you closer.

You can live down the regret by getting to know everyone you meet from this point on forward better. You cannot let your past become your present nor your future. And although you do feel as if you've made a mistake, you can change that by altering your actions in the future. Hope you feel better!

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Losing 4 people that you knew at the same time is very hard. It makes us reflect on how much we will miss these people and how we could have changed things or done something different. You can't change the fact that they weren't your best friends, but they were your friends and they enriched your life and you enriched theirs. Reflect on the good times that you had together, not what you would have done different.

You shouldn't feel bad for not getting to know them better. You didn't know that something bad was going to happen to them. I guess this shows though that if there are friends in your life that you want to spend more time with or get to know better, don't hold back. Spend time with your family and friends as if there is no tomorrow. Then you won't have any regrets.

Don't let the unchangeable past manipulate your changeabel future. Get to know the people around much better. Get a little bit involved in their lives. Don't regret it, learn from it and grow from there. I did when my father died. Him and my mom were separated. I didn't make to much time to spend with him and when he suddenly died of a heart attack, I regreted not spending more time with him. Then a friend helped me snap out of it (my wife). She told me to spend more time with those who are still with us. So I started seeing more of my mother and family. When my mother died of cancer, I was very sad about her dying, but I didn't regret not spending enough time with, thanks to my wife. So like I said learn from it.

God Bless and I'll be saying a prayer for you.
