I am from Quebec, Canada and i dont have much experience with american culture. I see most of it on TV and so on. i'm assuming that most people on this site are American (correct me if i'm wrong) and i have to say that i dont feel as affected by racism as you guys seem to be. I know that it exist every where and i know there are skin heads and hard core white power people here as well as black people who resent white people and people that hate jews and all immigrants here. just the other day a jewish school was set on fire here in Montreal. so i know that discrimination very well does exist here. but still. i get the feeling that it is much more present there in the states. we receive a lot of immigrants here in Quebec and Montreal is one of the most culturally diverse places to be. Honestly i love it here!! basically my question is...do you guys both american and canadian think that one culture is more preoccupied with race than the other??

Quebec is the only french province in Canada and most of the people here barely speak french. it's a messed up french. we welcome all cultures and all languages but we still have to make sure that our mother toung is not abolished.

I think some of us are more preoccuoied with race but its because our race is always an issue. Like one day someone called me the n word because I got the parking spot they wanted or the person that told me it was not because of my brains but my skin color that I was accpted at my college, keep in mind I had a 3.7, excellent SAT scores and graduated from the #1 High School in the nation. Sometimes you ignore it but sometimes you just have to put ignorant people in their place and it does become a race issue although you are trying to show them that you worked just as hard to get where you are.

A Time To Kill. The action picture is depending on the common e book with the help of John Grisham and that's about a black guy on trial for murdering the adult men who raped his 10 365 days previous daughter. contained in the trial, both the prosecuter and the choose are white, and the comprehensive tale takes position in rural Mississippi, a city ridden with racism. Its an outstanding e book and action picture you need to verify it out.

Racism today is use as often as tissues when you have a cold.

The meaning is watered down. When I hear racism called out......
I think that someone is crying victim to bypass their own mistakes.
I only change my first impression when I hear the facts behind the statement. This is sad but true for a lot of people I know.

That is a very good question but I think it all depends on the individual themself. As an individual people tend to follow in your footsteps and when one idea is spoken people spread the word and now people are just open about it. they fall on Freedom of Speech.

I have always thought that Quebecers were more concerned about it than anywhere else. Where else in the world do they ban signs in the English language?

Is Canada as ethnically diverse as America? If not, come back again and we'll talk about the problem...

You're lucky that's all we talk about over here and I really get sick of it but being of color is the worst thing to be in America, I know first hand.
