Yep. If he wants to save the world, fine (I don't buy it, I think it's a ploy to sell more of his crappy albums), but shouldn't' he start with Ireland?

I don't know about hypocrite, but misguided yes. I find a lot of the causes he espouses tend to have an over simplistic view of the world and give far too much credit to the people he's trying to help. The one that sticks out in my mind is him wanting industrialized countries to end farm subsidies so African farmers can compete on the world stage. Hah. The moment that happens there won't be a single farmer in Europe and they'll become dependant upon exterior sources of food. In turn when some little podunk country interrupts that supply of food, what do you think is going to happen? The wehrmacht will be coming for a visit and this time Frenchie and Limey Joe will be fighting beside 'em instead of against them.

I think those poor Africans just might be better off where they are than where Bono thinks they should go.

Yes, why is it some wealthy people go and suggest that the middle class should pay more taxes to help the poor? He should give away his own damn money if he doesn't value it. If throwing money at Africa truly fixed problems, they would already be the wealthiest continent on earth.

Not really. It's not his fault that he became super famous. The fans are the real hypocrites.
