Right now I've got stuff like Thrice, CKY, 311, Toadies, Ween, swing music...I like a lot and I'm tired of the typical bands...albums or artists would be cool, thanks. Not terribly fond of country, rap, or hip-hop.

I also recommend 1960s-1970s Motown, such as the Temptations, Four Tops, Supremes, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder. In addition, you can't go wrong with the Beach Boys, Beatles, Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival. For a later sound, try the Eagles, Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt. I also enjoy the folkier stuff from the 1960s, including early records by Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel.

That is a lot of great music, including the artists the influence today's music makers. Enjoy!

Why don't you try some soul or r&b, preferably from the 60s and 70s, like motown, james brown, parliament funkadelic, sly and the family stone.

I would suggest R&B as well. The Temptations, Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, oldies like that.
