Post office, and if you go into a post office you might see a bunch of small lock boxes filling up one or more walls. That's where the mail goes.

Regular mailing goes to a physical address. P.O. Box mailing goes to a Post Office Box.

some people use a Post Office Box for mailing purposes, because they run a business out of their home, and the advantage is, po box mail is usually sorted, and put up by 8-9 AM every day !!! if you are in business, and work out of your home, you want your mail early in the day, while perhaps the regular time for your home delivery, might be 2-3-4 PM---so a PO Box is a better alternative !! even businesses that have an office in a building or storefront, might want their mail early in the day, so they use a PO box to get their mail at 8-9 AM as opposed to the afternoon, if that is their regular delivery time !! also, mail addressed to a PO box at a main Post office or large post office, may get to your box a day before other mail, because of sorting procedures !! the mail at the PO box is also secure, as opposed to mail delivered at home addresses, and can accumulate for days without attracting attention, if someone travels often, for their job !! there are lots of reasons people use PO boxes rather than normal delivery, and one is--the less they handle my mail, the greater the accuracy of me getting my mail, as i should !!

One big problem with P.O. Boxes is that you can't use UPS; you can only use regular mail. As far as I know, you therefore would have no way of tracking your parcels or letters if you send them to a P.O. Box.
