Trust me....you are not the only one who thinks like this (i am a very old soul...although im still 18 lol)

One option is to try to watch Bollywood music: they have lots of singing and dancing, and have HARDLY ANY sexual activities (not even kissing!)...typical family movies....but then again, they are becoming a bit western too...there are lots of movies you could choose

If you want something imaginative, colourful, for the whole family, and just simply beautiful to look at try this film: LAGAAN...it's truly inspirational, and the kids will get a very good message out of it

This film was in Channel 4's top 50 films you must watch before you die (it was in at number 16)...P.S.: there is loads of dancing and fantastic scenery too....Bollywood at its best! Enjoy!

Well first of all John Wayne, Lee Marvin and Clark Gable are not known for musical movies...lol However, if you are talking a mans man movie you have hit it on the head with those 3. What about Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant and Gregory Peck? Spencer Tracey, James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart? Musicals: Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby.
OK so my point is that there have always been many types of movies and many 'types' of actors. I agree that we have very few 'family oriented' movies now and even the animated movies are geared to adults so that they will watch them with their children.
BUT who is to blame?
The public of course because we go to the movies. We decide what will and won't sell and therefore what is and isn't made.
BUT all is not lost. There are still so many wonderful movies out there that harken back to the era you seem to love you just have to look for them in the video store or the festivals and not at the box office.
Let me know and I will give you a list.
Happy hunting.

I completely understand were you are coming from. More talented acting, script writing, and production in films of the 'ole days'.
