Lord Mountbatten died August 1979, and Wallis Simpson in 1986. Can the asker give us any more info? Nobody from the British royal family died that day.

Well Wallis Simpson never actually made it into the Royal Family, right, so my guess would be Lord Mountbatten, Charles' uncle.
