Kind of. It was performed on a set in a studio with a live audience, except for the few times it was done outside. (London was their biggest undertaking as far as on-location shooting. If you watch closely, you can see on-lookers!)

Well, not really a "stage," but a studio set that has the rooms frequently used all next to each other.
And it wasn't in New York, but in LA.
I attended a taping once. :)
