I have a friend (well ex-friend now) that is threatening to sue me for alienation of affections. She and her husband are seperating and she is trying to blame me. She hasn't filed the claim yet, but is insiting to him that she will. What kind of lawyer should I see?

I don't think you can sue for alienation of affection any more. However, don't take my word for it, see a divorce lawyer. I guess they would know more about the ins and outs of breakups than anyone else.
By the way, why is she blaming you for her marriage failure? Don't you know any better than to play "games" with women who have hubbies at home? You should be ashamed of yourself and, also, you DID contribute to the breakup of her marriage.

AA suits have been abolished with the aid of fact the Nineteen Thirties in all states different than hi, IL, NC, NH, MS, NM, SD and UT. (LOL, guess a number of those Utah circumstances want huge courtrooms.) study Wikipedia on it. There are countless achieveable valuable defenses and it rather is a stressful case to coach. working example, if stupid female ought to plausibly declare she did no longer comprehend your husband replaced into married, that ought to point she did no longer intentionally attempt to break up the marriage. basically my inner maximum non-criminal opinion, i do no longer think of an AA in good shape could be taken very heavily presently even interior the states the place the statutes nevertheless be conscious. yet, stable luck if this is the style you prefer to circulate. possibly you should a minimum of use the threat of criminal action to get some help out of him. You properly factor out that it may be hurtful all around. stable luck resolving it a approach or the different.

Sounds like she is just threatening you. But a Family or Domestic lawyer is the one to see.

Probably a family/divorce lawyer. It is very difficult to prove. If he testifies that he started the affair, not you, I think. I do know there is a statute of limitations of 2 years.

Find the meanest S O B of an attorney in the valley. BTW, her chances of collecting are somewhere between zero and zilch in this day and age. That's true unless you are a REAL SIREN and have something nobody else has got. :)

I didn't realize that you could sue for that. I guess any family practice lawyer would work.
