Hello dear friend. :)
First of all, it would be very difficult for me to move to a much smaller place I think, but if I had no choice, I would try to stay as positive about it as I could. I would of course, take all of my pictures, things that I've been given over the years, that are closest to me (gifts from hubby), sentimental things that belonged to now deceased family members (small items), my favorite bed linens and blankets, some of my favorite indoor plants (if I'll have room in the new apartment of course), jewelry, computer, one TV, and of course, my very favorite books. I'm sure there would be other things that I would want to take, but I would really have to think hard on what was most important to me, and what I would have room for in my new home.
Again, this would be a very difficult thing to do, but I would try to remember that it's the people closest me, and my beloved pet, that matter most to me, not material things. But, I am human, and love material things as everyone does, so would just try my best to choose my favorite items, and things that I would have room for.
Good luck to you, Moon. :)

My dog, my Bible and family pictures. At my age, a lot of my family is gone, including my son who died at 29 of cancer. I would also take a couple of my favorite quilts for comfort and to remember the good times when I could afford to buy fabric and had the time to relax and sew. The other stuff...money, awards, things that seem so important at times, are all things that you will some day find out that you can live without.
All you really need is family, pets and your memories.

I would keep my bed and linen, my good clothes and toiletries, makeup, my travel bag and blanket. Also a journal to document my inventory of personal or sentimental belongings which would be birth certificate, and other documents that you may need in life

They are not really considered "belongings", but the only thing I would keep would be my family! With them, I can go anywhere.

After losing everything to Hurricane Katrina I would say family/ childhood pictures and other momentos are the only things that would be important. Anything else can be replaced

geographly, or into other times and dimensons?(if possible) your queston is to broad spectrum to enable me to answer. one basic consiteration would be what you were willing to forgo? in this day and time we take for granted many things we consiter esentual that would have ben luxerious twenty five years ago. for example, antibiotics, anesthesia, dependable two way radio, efecicant referagriation, (many americans didn,t have even this thirty years ago) i could go on endlessly. you will have to elaborate at some length, for me to even hazard a answer. why are you asking this anyway? i am curious to know now

Hmmm...good question. I'd have to say all of my pictures because you can't replace them and I have many family members that have passed away, framed certificates because I am proud of my accomplishments and would want to hang them wherever I moved, my husband's guitars because they are priceless to him and I like listening to him play, and a few choice items that have been handmade and given to me by people that I love dearly. Other than that, it can pretty much all go and I'd just have to get new stuff. :)

Things I absolutly need and have to have . Practical things . If you can, get rid of things you don't like all that much . Keep things that you truly like. Use this as a way to cleanse your life.
