no offense, of course, but this question seems a bit vague - a better rephrasing of the question, in my opinion, might be - "let's say you are in the middle of the ocean in a life raft that is losing air and sinking quickly. you have a walkman and your entire CD collection, but the weight is sinking the raft. you can only keep three CDs if you want to live . . which would they be?" gives the decision a little drama - some pizazz . . a place would have to be pretty small to get rid of CDs. they're pretty small things, they're not armoires. anyway, the three CDs i would keep with me would be:

1.) Innervisions - Stevie Wonder
2.) Complete Recordings - Louis Armstrong & Hot 5's and 7's
3.) The Nutcracker Suite - Tschaicovsky

I wouldn't be happy with only three - but these would keep me sane.

I'd keep my 60s and 70s music because that is when I grew up and that is the music dear to my heart!

Don't give any of them up. Rip 'em all to your hard drive.
