I don't think others should judge too harshly. I doesn't sound right to me. I would question if the man was not exploiting this girl and using some form of coercion. But there are many other examples where age is not an issue, but the underlying basis for a reationship is probably equally flawed.
But to counter that completely, which is why I chose not to judge, it is possible that the girl maybe the one in control and indeed it maybe based on true and honest friendship. If the ages had been 60 and 28 it would have just been unusual.

Forget all the brow-beaters saying she's old enough to be your daughter. They're misguided and very narrow minded too. If you were a Hollywood film star and she was a struggling Welsh actress(you know who i mean)...then people wouldn't make half as much fuss.

If its mutual, then it is acceptable. However, I think such a big age gap, and the girl only being 18 should be scrutinised.
