In order for it to be effective, you need to take it within 72 hours, the sooner you take it, the more likely that it will work. You can take both pills together, though the package says to take them 12 hours apart. You may feel nauseated because it is a large dose of the hormones found in birth control pills. If I were you, I'd go ahead and get on the pill while you're at the doctor so you don't have to stress like this again. I have been there, I know it isn't fun.
P.S. Ignore all those posts that tell you it is wrong or like an abortion to take these pills. It is not: it is a responsible decision and will not affect you at all if you already are pregnant. Good Luck

I used to work in pharmacy service, it can make you sick to your stomach for a few hours but other than that it doesn't really have any noticeable side effects, though you should still request the list from the doc and be aware of the listed side effects that are possible.
I don't recall the time limits but the doc can help - and by all means get some condoms while you are there. Besides risking pregnancy, you are risking your health more than you know, every time you do it without. Did you know that some STDs cause women to have a greater chance of getting certain kinds of cancer? Yes even while young, as well as later in life. And then there's the more deadly right now stuff. Please don't take a chance. You deserve to take good care of yourself first and foremost!
Good luck.

The morning after pill should be taken at least 72 hours after unprotected sex. The sooner the more effective, keep in mind though that the morning after pill is not as effective as regular birth control which is 99.9% effective while the morning after pill at it's optimum (right after intercourse) is only 89% effective. Also keep in mind that the morning after pill is more of an abortive than actual birth control because it prohibits implantation of a fertilized egg, it does not prohibit fertilization.

Try to get to your Dr. today, or a Planned Parenthood! You have about 72 hrs (3 days) to have the morning after pill be effective. Also, don't let anyone tell you that this is an abortion, it's not! These pills delay ovulation, they are high doses or birth control pills. Good luck! And USE PROTECTION EVERY TIME!!!

Taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, the morning after pill is 89% effective at preventing pregnancy, primarily by preventing ovulation. Tomorrow is within that time frame.

you actually have till today in the evening to take the pill! I just took my last pill today at 9am. The morning after pill will give you cramping, nausea, headache and or dizzyness depending on the person. i usually buy Dramamine and take 2 pills 30 minutes before i take the actual pill because it makes me throw up. Dramamine will get you drously unless you get the non drowsy one. Yeah it's normal to feel nervous but next time try and not have un protrcted sex because it's your health that will be at risk not theirs.... I learned my lesson.. Good Luck!!!
