so okay. i am creating a site for someone and they are willing to pay for the domain name. so we have a domain name.
i know html and do NOT need a site builder. what i need is a free hosting plan that either you can register the domain name for the price already arranged (9-15 dollars) and get free hosting or get free hosting and transfer the domain name to said hosting plan. i need a free hosting plan that gives me about 150mb+ of storage, hopefully a email account and a photo album would be awesome. please help! i have to get the hosting set up by wednesday night.

You may be interested in frihost:

They give you 250mb of webspace and allow you to install linux based software packages to your webspace therefore you can use widely available photo album software for your webspace or if feel inclined you can design your online album.

You get unlimited mysl databases and php. You also get high bandwith, 10GB per month and best of all your free webspace is advertisement free which is unique amongst free hosts.

You can use any domain which you have bought with your account. All you have to do is point your name servers to frihosts and your domain will be reachable by the world. There is not cost applied by frihost for allowing you to use your domain on their network.

They support this by advertising within the forums. You must make quality posts once in a while in order to keep your account active.

You need 5 quality posts in order to get an account in the first place however you only need to be active after you get your account once in a while. I for instance have only posted 3 times in the last month and I still have lots of points before my account would be deactivated.

Free accounts can be unstable and as such are not as reliable as paid for accounts therefore you should be certain that you can cope with periods of loss of service before using any free web host. None offer failover, afterall this is expensive and you are paying nothing therefore you have to expect these problems.

I bought my domain name from lycos in the UK:

http://webhosting.lycos.co.uk/?affiliatelogin=buildasite&affiliatecode=4a59e0dd30

They give me full control over domain and allow me to change name server info etc.

I hope that your domain supplier allows you to point your domain to other name servers for free like lycos does for me. All I pay is £5 per year to keep my domain name.

You'll get the best deal from 1&1.
~$6/year gives you ownership of the domain name, a 5-page
website, 1G email, etc.
