I almost always back into parking spaces. With the enormous SUVs today, backing out of a canyon between two huge SUVs is far more difficult and dangerous than backing into a space. That's why I do it.

A parking lot is the most accident prone area there is... If you can back in, you can see traffic to leave...much simpler to do.. I gotta ask, though, is how people park really an issue to you ??? Why in the world would you care one way or another how someone chooses to park their car??? I agree with you, there is a lot of ignorance going on here, but not with the people that back into the space.......

because it is safer to get out after wards. I drive truck for a living and the number one cause of accidents is backing up onto traffic IE if u back out of a p space a car can come along .but if u back in first to a p space then when u pull out yournlessen your chances of an accident. Smart people and professional drivers always back in to a p space. Whether u agree or not . Its a statistic that backing out causes the most accidents. Hope this helps.

No in alot of lots it is easier to see in a 90 degree lot when pulling out forward. If you pull into a lot and back out the car is 2/3 of the way out before you can see around a huge truck to see someone coming. When i back in i can see this sooner when leaving if a car is coming. This does not apply to those angled 60 degee lots. When you back out of alot and people come up on you you are in a hurry to get in drive and get out of the way. If you pull forward out then you just keep on going to get out of the person that is waiting on the spots way.

As a number of answerers stated, It is FAR safer to back into a space as you have much better visibility of other vehicles and pedestrians when you are in the lane rather than backing out blindly from the spot. It is obviously much easier to pull out forward than back out .

In my opinion, it is easier to reverse out of a spot rather than into one. Although you may not have as good visibility when you reverse out, it just takes a little attention. More importantly, you are not obstructed on either side by cars as you are when you back into a space. I bet there are a significant number of accidents by drivers carelessly backing into parking spaces.

So they dont have to back out when they leave. They just put it in drive and go without all that backing up and chance hitting someone in the process.Sometimes you're frustated or mad cause I hate shopping and I dont care to be more aggravated so I make it easier for me for when I leave.

No, because then when it is busy in the parking lot and a pain in the *** to back up, you can pull straight out and be safer.

When I arrive in the parking lot at work in the morning, it is not very crowded. When I leave, chaos! It is easier to get out when I leave work if I back in.
