1) Joe Montana
2) Jerry Rice
3) Jim Brown.

Wow, that was easy!

Farve and Elway aren't in the equation. Farve is the most over-rated QB ever to play the game...what's he won, ONE Super Bowl? oooo, how impressive... That's as many as Trent Dilfer won....and Brad Johnson...

And Elway won two Super Bowls...how does THAT make him the best QB ever? It doesn't. He also lost THREE, and got his *** kicked all three times. Elway was the 2nd most over rated QB ever to play the game.

No one is close to Jerry Rice as a receiver.

Jim Brown is the best running back ever, as well as the best football player ever.

It appears that ESPN has once again managed to brainwash a bunch of people into thinking that Farve and Elway are the two best QBs of all time... Guess they never heard of Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw over there...

1 - Best Quarterback - Dan Marino. What he did with the ball, his lightning release, his decision-making, puts him just above Elway (a little more mobile, but easily shaken), and Montana (more of a leader, manager, but, not as much in the talent department)

2 - Best Wide Receiver - Jerry Rice. Sets the standard for all other receivers to follow. Did it better and longer and more consistently than anyone else out there.

3 - Best Running Back - Barry Sanders. This is the hardest for me to answer, because of so many amazing backs (Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Gale Sayers, OJ, Marcus Allen [my sleeper fav], etc), but I was lucky enough to see Barry play, and he made teams change the way they defend, not because of just a gimmick, but because of his vision. Combination of vision, speed, elusiveness, and flat-out determination to get that yard puts him at the top for me.

QB: Joe Montana - He won in college and the pros, early and late in his career, brought 3 different teams to the SB, and fought through injuries and came back multiple times.

RB: Barry Sanders - He would hold every major rushing record had he not retired in his prime.

WR: Jerry Rice - Holds every significant receiving record, but more importantly, he drew enough double coverage that he made anyone playing the #2 reciever position better than they would be by themselves.
