I was at work, in my office, while an international sales meeting was going on in the conference room. One of our managers turned on a TV when he was taking a break and started yelling as he saw the news. We all ran in there to see what had him so upset and watched in horror as the towers burned and finally collapsed. Someone went into the conference room to let everyone there know what was happening. The corporate CEO, who was attending, decided to move the TV out to the lobby so that we could all go watch it when we had a chance and also to listen to radios while we worked to keep up with the news. Several of us left work early, including some of our foreign sales representatives to donate blood.

I was in shock most of the day and for several days after that. My mother who had been scheduled to fly home on September 12 had to stay with us 2 weeks longer before we could get her flight rebooked. There was a general panic around the office when we discovered that there had been a plane highjacked over Ohio and we knew that one of our fellow employees was on a plane headed to Cleveland. It took a long time before we knew where he was and that he was OK. My nephew who was in the military and stationed at Arlington, VA at the time was in touch rather quickly so we didn't have to worry too long about where he was. It was one of the most horrific times that I have ever been through.

But now, I want to remember because we should never forget to be aware of the danger that lurks out there and the people who have committed their lives and their fortunes to destroy our country. These people have no concept of "innocent bystanders". We are all potential targets. No matter how you feel about the war in Iraq, we must always keep in mind what happened, and how our own complacency let it happen.

NEVER AGAIN.

i was getting ready to go to school (i was a soph in high school at that time). i was actually getting dressed in my living room, where a tv is located. my dad comes downstairs and tells me and my mom that a plane crashed into the WTC. When we turned on the television, i was shocked, surprised, and didnt really know what to make of it. at school, all we did was watch news, listen to the radio, read internet articles, do a little classwork, and do some major talking during lunch, about what had taken place. once i got home in the afternoon, i was glued to the television screen, and even witnessed the tower collapsing in the afternoon (if anyone remembers, i think i was watching MSNBC or CNBC, and they were conducting a live interview, and all of a sudden you see smoke coming towards that area). i also remember calling my cousins who lived in connecticut at that time, and are now in san francisco. my cousin was telling me he was trying to contact work people because he was supposed to go to the WTC that day for a meeting (kinda scary).

i was shocked at what had taken place. the whole event seemed unreal, and looked like a freakin movie scene or something!!!!!!!!!

I had just taken my 6 year-old son to school. My daughter was watching one of her morning cartoons (I think Sesame Street) when my ex-husband called and told me to turn on the tv. I saw the first tower hit and was in shock. My mother started crying and kept saying "what will happen to all those people in those buildings?" I drove as fast as I could back to my son's school to pull him out. Everyone at the school was in a panic trying to get their kids home safe. My boyfriend who was in the Army at the time called and told me to stay away from malls and 7-11's. We just sat and cried when the towers fell. It was an awful day and nothing felt the same after that. I now always fear traveling over bridges because I fear they are easy targets.

I was at home and had the television on. I couldn't beleive what I was seeing and hearing....that some other country could hate us so much that they would cause total destruction. It's sad....very sad. I was afraid, for the rest of the day, to leave my house!
