Is winteriser fertilizer good to put at this time of season for the lawn. And if not then what is the best season to do that.

Your lawn would be much better off if you watered it with liquid compost before winter.
Save your soil & groundwater; Go Organic

Here in Wisconsin I like to wait until after the last cutting of the year. Then put the fertilizer on the lawn and let it work itself into the turf with any rain that might fall. The melting snow in the spring will work the rest of it into the ground developing a healthy root system. Don't forget to fertilize again with a high nitrogin fertilizer in the spring to promote lush top growth. Good Luck !

yes its time to do it, but make sure if its a weed and feed you will need to know your kind of grass you have because most weed and feed ferts. have atrazine in them and that will destroy bermuda grass, but it will greatly improve St. Augustine grass.Just remember to water well after applying the fert. I recommend Scotts Winterizer. The most important thing to remember is if you dont have a lot of weeds use a turfbuilder winterizer not the weed and feed winterizer. So identify your grass and then buy your fertilizer.
