apart from genetic factors it is due to the balance of hormones that because we are man tend to be testosterone that gives body hair but not hair and chapes the body differently from females while female hormones tend to make accumulate fat in the areas where the famous curves are and then help keep the hair follicle clean so that it can keep on grow and avoid death (boldness)

Men produce more testosterone than women, and the roots of the hair follicles are sensitive to it in male pattern baldness men. The testosterone is killing off the "roots" of the hair. Women produce less testosterone, so the lesser chance of going bald as a result.

Most male baldness is a combination of genetics and the presence of testosterone. Women have much, much less testosterone than men, so they are much less likely to develop baldness. After menopause, the amount of testosterone a woman produces increases, and could trigger baldness.

It is not fully understood, but thought to be due to sensitivity to testosterone at androgen receptors (so genes & male hormones). Women have considerably less of the male hormones so are not prone to the male hair loss.
Of course, this may not apply to ladies with hormone problems...

Let me try to guess this with my brain. Could it be related to levels of testosterone, and the inheritance of genes along the male line in families? That's my guess.
