My child tells me sometimes not all the time that her heart hurts. She doesnt have any symptoms of anything at all and she is a very normal kid.(runs around alot ) My husband tells me she says that because i tend to be somewhat of a hypocondriac. Is there anything i should watch out for or should i just go ahead and take her to the doc?

If her color is normal, ie pink skin and rosy lips.....it is not likely her heart that hurts. Rather, as she is in a growing situation it is more likely rapid growth in her ribcage or sternum that is causing the discomfort.
I would mention this to the doctor the next time you see him, but I would not rush her to a doctor. As she is active, her appetite is fine, her color is good.....it is what my mom used to call "growing pains". If she becomes lethargic, doesn't want to eat her favorite foods, or if her lips take a bluish cast, then it's time to worry and rush to the doctor.

Wonder if it is sometimes food related and is actually heart burn. Watch what she eats prior to her chest pain. Just a thought.
