I am 99% sure this is what I have found in my kitchen. Small black, does not fly or jump. About 1/16" and can show up anywhere. I have sprayed and cleaned my cupboards now 4X, put boraxo under shelf paper, and then even bombed my whole house, all within 3 days. I have caulked all shelves in my kitchen top and bottom, washed every can and dish., emptied everything and thrown away anything that was open. I even opened all boxed goods and rinsed all plastic packages inside. 1 Brownie mix when I ran it under water was wet, a very small hole was in it. How do I get rid of these?

Here is a picture of one kind of weevil: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weevil

They normally have a longish 'snout' and the antennae have a distinct bend in them if they are a true weevil. However, the only reference I can find to a 'bo weevil' is to a band by that name.

It sounds as though you are doing everything possible to get rid of them, whatever they are. You could also keep any grain product (flour, cookies &c) in sealed boxes (plastic containers, for example).

The main danger from them is that they can spoil flour and any grain product. There is a danger that they can carry E. coli, depending. of course, if they have been in contact with it.

They are not boll weevils, which eat cotton bolls while they are still on the plants.

They are flour weevils. Their eggs were in contaminated flour products when it went into that package. There are usually some in every package (gross but true since the commercial standards always permit a limited percentage). You will not see them unless the products stay on your shelf so long that the weevil eggs hatch and the weevils come out. Then they go after all the other flour products in your cupboard.

Throw out what you have. Buy just a few replacements. Use them up fast enough that they dont' stay a long time on your shelves.

You don't mention what area you live in, and treatments can vary according to area. Best to contact local agricultural dept. if it turns out you've got boll weevils. Picture at website below. If you found them in cake mix & flour, they are probably flour or wheat weevils. They hatch in flour products and cake mixes that have been kept too long on your shelf. Get rid of all of the flour and cake mixes and start with new. Buy small amounts that you'll use in a reasonable amount of time.

Sometimes you will buy a bag of flour and it will have them in it. The only way to get rid of them is to eliminate or replace the wheat flour based products in your kitchen. I don't have a picture of one, but they have very long noses (almost 1/2 of their body length?. Also, I believe it is spelled Boll Weavil, or something similar.
