A pop up blocker is not going to help you until AFTER your PC is clean of spyware

If it's not a pop up it's a virus or worm (depends on how serious)
try running ad-ware for sure to find out -

or in some cases this may not be yours( but others who have visited those websites previously might have infected you with something)

many adult sites come with ad-ware that loads into your hard drive as soon as you access there site without it even notifying you they sit and spy monitoring your every search to see what you look for the most it's not illegal because sometimes these are very hard to trace they can be embedded in your computers most sensitive files or made to look like one so your computers spy bot or antivrus wont pick them up but it depends,

So if you know of someone else in your house hold besides you that might be accessing your computer to these sites there most likely the culprit most computers don't just gradually develop this issue someone has to look for it if you know what i men ok well have a good day and good luck

Either install a pop-up blocker like google toolbar etc or upgrade to Windows SP2 which comes with built in pop-up blocking. Also run an anti spyware program like "Search and Destroy" etc so that existing ad-entires can be removed from PC. This is freely available over net. You can also load a good ad-blocking program like McaFee etc.

Set your security options in Internet Explorer:

- click Tools

First, download Firefox and adblock extension.

Then, download Ad-aware and Spybot and run them both on your machine and don't forget to let them clean what they found.

Optional step : install an antivirus.
