I would hope like in most families with love and guidance.

They have most enviable family system. The old parents stay in their homes with grand children to play with and the older you are the more respectable you become. In Asian cultures, there are no Uncles and aunties, nephews and neices. Each relationship has a unique name to itself, and each name has a lore attached. There are separate words for:1.Father's elder brother and younger brother,2 Mother's brother and sister, 3,Brother's son, and daughter,4: sister's son and daughter5: Brother's wife,6: Sister's husband,7, separate words for even farther off relationships. The family life in Asia has to be experienced to be believed. It is so wonderful, full of empathy, compassion, mutual help. Though it is dying out due to houses getting smaller, yet, it was and continues to be a custom that all the various relationships counted above had a common kitchen. What else do you need for expanded love in 'a' family ! We do not know what we are devoid of in the West. No 'family'...? Just an annual Christmas Card to old parents...lodged in Old Peoples Home. It ought to be very sad !

I'm half Asian (my dad's Swedish and mom's Japanese) and I guess I had a typical American upbringing. As for values & morals, education is very important, as well as family. Oh and manners, manners, manners!

Well in my culture we have to pray the buddha every morning. The parents pushes their kids to study very hard. The kids need to have a better education to succeed in life. We need to always respect our elders.

I think Asians want to ensure that their kids respect elders and are very much culturally aware ...........morals are good ...but Asian are gamblers tooo ..but who isnt ???
