Because that's what politcal parties do. Who ever is not in charge is going to do everything they can to make the ones in charge look bad. If the Rep's were the minority, they would be doing approximately the samae thing.
FYI--the difference between a Democrat and a Republican:
A Democrat and a Republican were walking down the street one day. They came upon a homeless man. The Republican reached into his wallet and gave the man $20 and his business card. He told him to come to his business tomorrow and apply for a job.
When they came upon a second homeless man, the Democrat did not want to be outdone by the Republican. So, he reached into the Republican's wallet and gave the man $50, and then he gave him directions to the nearest soup kitchen.

My brother is a Gulf War vet who was involved in air, soil and water testing in Iraq. If the WMDs were ever there [past 1991], they would have found some traces of them, even if they are currently buried. No one has found anything.
