System setting protector?

This started 2 weeks ago
Every time I turn on my computer I get a-- systems setting protector error---Stating that it did not load or somthing to that effect.
What caused this and How do I get rid of it

i have never heard of this error. does it affect your computer in any way? does it run slow or erratic? it might be a virus that used to be there but it doesn't run completely because something got erased. either way i would suggest running a virus scan.
