I had just gotten done working an 11 PM - 7 AM shift at a blood bank in the mid-west. Had just fallen asleep when the first trade center was hit. My boss called me up shortly later saying "We are under attack and we need you to come back into work!" Of course I was incredulous, but she talked me into turning on the TV. I went back into work and was there until about 8AM the next day.

I had just gotten home from work and turned on the TV to relax and the first thing I saw was the World Trade Center on fire. I even saw the second plane hit the second tower as I was watching the coverage. I couldn't believe what was happening. I live in Canada, but feel everyone's pain who lost a loved one or friend that day. I will never forget 9/11 and how so many innocent people lost their lives.

I was in Ames, Iowa in my apartment watching the Today when the planes hit the WTC and I was just fascinated that this was reality and not some hyped up Hollywood movie, like "Independence Day" starring Will Smith. So, the things that grabbed me at that moment was on GMA they had someone giving a interview from within the WTC that morning and on The Today Show they mention that there was no television coverage of the attack at all for the entire of NYC because the television antennas for all the television stations in NYC, not the cable stations anyway, were both on the WTC that morning, so when the towers got hit, all the free televsions stations had gone totally off the air and then they interviewed Matt Lauer on his way to work and getting stuck in traffic because the whole access into NYC was closed because of the attacks on the WTC. Then I got to work at the Bank that I worked at we all talked about how many planes were in the attack, oh! yes, I remember when the pentagon got hit also, because I remember Katie Couric mentioning she had played around that area when she and her family had lived near to Washington, D.C.. Then I went to work where we did not have a television on and the radio was turned off also, so we could focus entirely on our work and not on the current events of the day.

I was in my bedroom watching t.v. when I saw the news crew switch to a live picture of the 1st tower which was hit. As I was watching this in absolute disbelief, then, the other plane hit. I screamed & feel to my knees. I cannot believe what just happened. Then I had this overwhelming fear that my mom was there. I tried to call her but I couldn't get through. It took three days for word to get to me that she didn't take the train into the city that day. I cannot think about 9/11 without a getting choked up.

I was getting ready for a job interview that was just 5 miles from the Pentagon. My husband called from where he works and told me to turn on the TV. I did and was completely stunned when I watched the second aircraft fly into the tower. I literally couldn't move and completely broke down when the towers fell. To this day I get emotional when I think about it. And I won't watch any news footage of that day. It's just heartbreaking to think of all the people in the towers who didn't know what hit them, and even more so for those police officers, fire fighters, military and the civilians that went back in to rescue and didn't make it out. A truly sad day for America. Home of the Free, Land of the Brave!

I had a doctor's appointment that morning and was in the pharmacy getting my prescription when I heard someone say that a plane flew into the World Trade Center. I did not pay much attention. Thought it was a joke or something. When I got to the bank, my co-worker said that a plane just few into the Pentagon, then I knew that something was terribly wrong, No customers came into the Bank that day. We just watched the events unfolding and I felt sick and stunned. It was all so unbelievably horrific. My heart went out to the loved ones who lost family members. I don't think I slept a wink that night. It was a nightmare.

I was sitting in Gr. 10 music class when the principal came over the PA to tell us that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center...had absolutely no idea what the World Trade Center was, never heard of it. I didn't think it was a big deal then, but as I have grown older, I realize that there were so many lives affected by it. What a tragic thing to happen.

I was in 4th grade, and I was in math class at my elementry school. The day was a normal day: My teachers lecturing, the recess activities, and everything. We hadnt recieved any information. So then, on the school bus home, me and my friend overheard some talking, but we didnt know what was happening. Then, at home, I learned the news: The planes crashed into the twin towers and the pentagon. At first, me being an idiot 9 year old, wondered what the big deal was if no one died. I was badly scolded and told over 1100 people died in the tower. then, 180 people died in the pentagon. Thats when I realized it was of serious importance.

I was a 4th grader at school, all I really remember is all the teachers stopping in their tracks to watch it on the news, some teachers were crying, and it was very quiet at school. I remember at about 3:30 pm our teachers sat us down and the first thing they said was "theres been an attack on America, kids." but i didnt truely understand. When i got home, my dad was watching the news and was all teary eyed, i lived near a gas station, and the street was blocked for at least a mile with people trying to get gas, well my dad explained everything to me, and now, 5 years later, im close to finishing school, so i can enroll in the United States Air Force Academy when I graduate. My family is very proud of me, and im happy to honor my country!

I was working at a Civic Center here in Wisconsin and was in the middle of a set-up for an event, when the stage manager stepped out of his office and told me to quickly come in his office and see what is happening on Tv. I walked in and saw to my Horror, the 2nd plane as it flew straight at one of the Towers and Crash head-on into it. I was Completely Stunned!!!! It all seemed so Surreal, like a Bad Nightmare. I have been around awhile and have seen some pretty horrible things in my time but this Tradgedy is one that is forever etched in my mind. The Total In-Humanity of those Terrorists TRUELY Horrifies Me.
