Gripe water worked MIRACLES for my son. He was the king of gas. Other things to try are: Dr. Brown's bottles, the "football" hold, Isomil (soy formula by Similac) or Enfamil Gentlease Lipil. But in my experience, these things only helped. Baby's Bliss Gripe water was the only thing that worked 100%. You can buy it at health food stores, or you may be able to find it at a cheaper price on Ebay. My son loved the taste of it and you could literally hear his little belly deflating when he took it. One word of caution: it is easy for them to choke on it. Give it to her slowly from a dropper, or you can even mix it in with her forumla. Good luck, I know how trying this can be. (Mylicon drops, BTW, did absolutely nothing for him.)

First of all, if she's only two weeks old, how long are you trying these different formulas before switching to another one? It takes a baby's digestive system about 3 or 4 days to get the old formula out of it and get the new one in it, to see if it reacts well with her. A baby's digestive system really is very delicate, and it's best not to switch formulas too often. You won't critically injure her from switching too often, but it will probably cause her more discomfort than she's already feeling.
Secondly, both of my boys had awful colic, and gripe water didn't do squat for them. :( The only thing that worked was to switch them to Enfamil Nutramigen and use VentAire bottles. Even then, it didn't go away completely, but it DID help considerably. I also used to bicycle their legs quite often, and boy oh boy they tooted like sailors. :)

That's a good question. I have the same problem with my 6 week old and have had. I had to change his formula due to consitpation, and I also have been giving him Gerber Gas Relief. We started with the Mylicon drops and they didn't help. But the Gerber one's seem to help a lot more. We also switched his bottles to Dr. Brown's. They help also. He still has some trouble. More than he should....so I might also try this Gripe water. I feel your pain my dear.....

It worked great for my friend's baby but didn't do a thing for mine. Have you tried Enfamil Nutramigen formula? That is the only thing that gave my son relief. We also used Dr Brown bottles. Hope you something works for you soon. I know how hard it is to lose sleep!
If you haven't tried Nutramigen, go and get some today. My little boy had colic for 6 weeks. Within 48 hours of changing him to Nutramigen, he was a different baby! So quiet and content. No one could believe it. The milk proteins are "pre-digested" (whatever that mean - yuck). His little stomach just couldn't handle the protein in regular formula or my breast milk for that matter. Just try it.
Go read the info on the website. This formula was made for colicky babies.
YOU CAN EVEN GET A FREE SAMPLE.

It is called colic. One out of every five babys have this and it usually lasts up to 3 months.Im reading a book and there is a section in it that might help you a bit. if your bottle feeding which you are try a hypoallergenic formula. Wlak your baby in a carrier, the motion and body contact will reassure even if discomfort persists. Place her where she can hear steady rhythmic motion and sound which could help her fall asleep. Try a pacifier it may instantly help her. Also lay your baby belly down across your knees and gently rub her back, the pressure against her abdomen may help relieve her pain. swaddle her in a blanket so she feels secure and warm. Do not smoke in the house or around the baby. luck to you. Kristen

Gripe water can be found at Whole Foods but it is expensive ($10). It worked half the time on my baby (for hiccups). I wouldn't use it again.
If you think it's gas pain, try Dr Browne's bottles which have air vent system that migh help.

Gripe water is effective for gas, you may also want to look at enfamil for a formula, soy is a last resort if there are allergies.

i feel for you, i av a 9 month old daughter and she was exactly the same, gripe water is useless , u may as well give her pre boiled(cooled) water with a little sugar in it, that works just as well as gripe water, the only difference is u don't pay for the water and sugar, i used infacol that worked really well, just give before the feed and it breaks the milk down making it easier for baby to get wind up, u can buy it at and tesco/asda/morrisons/ or chemists
hope that helps and good luck

it could be taken as temporary curative device but for long term treatment it is not as effective as an herbal drink "healthy nursing tea" of secretsoftea.com, which helped my LO getting out of that painful phase of windy stomach and tummy ache.

Yes I have heard of it, in fact I ordered it through the mail for my daughter when she was a baby and it really did help her. I wish that I could give you the number, but I no longer have it. You should look it up and order it, the flavor was good as well.... good luck with her!!
